Baking always attracts housewives. Pies have a special place. The recipes are simple, prepare quickly. One of them is maple syrup pie. Try it and you will definitely like it.
- 1/2 cup - (125 ml) cornstarch
- 1/2 cup - (125 ml) water
- 3 - egg yolks;
- 2 cups - (500 ml) brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups - (375 ml) maple syrup
- 1/2 cup - (125 ml) butter
- 1/3 cup - (80 ml) chopped nuts
- 1 tsp - (5 ml) vanilla extract;
- 1 baked cake with a diameter of 23 cm;
- graham;
- whipped cream;
- chopped nut.
- Dissolve starch in a bowl in water and mix with egg yolk.
- In a saucepan over moderate heat, dissolve the brown sugar in the maple syrup. Add the starch and beat until the mixture is thick and creamy. Without stopping stirring, keep on low heat for another three minutes.
- Remove from heat, mix with butter, nuts and vanilla. Pour onto a crust and refrigerate for 2 hours. Garnish with whipped cream and chopped nuts. After that, you can serve it on the table.
Second option: replace the nuts with currants.
Butter shortcrust pastry:
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
- 1 cup (250 ml) powdered sugar
- 1 small egg;
- 3 drops of vanilla extract;
- 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) flour.
1. In a mixer, make a cream from the butter. Add the icing sugar gradually, stirring, until the dough is grainy. Add egg and vanilla extract.
2. Using a spatula, gradually add the flour, but do not stir too much.
3. Wrap the dough, refrigerate.
