To prepare the dough, melt the butter in a water bath. Add sugar, and then flour, gradually pouring it in a trickle. Add salt and stir. The dough should have a crumb texture. Then add baking powder and beaten egg. Stir until smooth. Shape the dough into a ball and refrigerate for an hour. Peel and seed apples for the filling, cut into slices.

In a mold with a thick bottom, heat the sugar until it starts to bubble, add butter there. Stir constantly until the butter mixes with the sugar and turns a beautiful light brown color. The caramel is ready. Now you need to put slices of sliced apples in a circle. Do not forget that this will be the top of the pie, so the apples should be nice. Send the apples with caramel to the oven for 30-40 minutes, then remove and let cool.
