A juicy, hearty, very tasty dish of the North Slovak cuisine. It might seem like a simple combination of cabbage and meat, but it can diversify your culinary menu. Usually cabbage with meatballs is served with sour cream and garlic sauce, which is also very easy to prepare.

It is necessary

  • - 800 g of white cabbage;
  • - 400 g minced pork;
  • - 100 g of round rice;
  • - 1, 5 glasses of broth or water;
  • - 2 onions;
  • - 1 egg;
  • - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of tomato paste, vegetable oil, sugar;
  • - pepper, salt, dried marjoram.
  • For the sauce for the dish:
  • - 150 g sour cream;
  • - 3 cloves of garlic.

Instructions

Step 1

Finely chop one onion, fry in vegetable oil until soft, add round rice, fry until the rice is transparent. After that, pour in the broth, simmer under the lid until the rice is soft.

Step 2

Chop the cabbage thinly, cut the second onion into half rings.

Step 3

Mix tomato paste with sugar, dried marjoram, salt, pour in 100 ml of water.

Step 4

Fry the onion and cabbage in a deep saucepan in 3 tbsp. tablespoons of oil, add tomato sauce, cover, simmer over medium heat.

Step 5

For meatballs, mix minced pork with cooled rice, add egg, marjoram. Pepper, salt. You can also take mixed minced meat.

Step 6

Form the meatballs with wet hands, place them on the cabbage, simmer until cooked under the lid, or bake in the oven. It will be even tastier in the oven, from time to time you can grease the meatballs with tomato sauce or add broth.

Step 7

Chop three cloves of garlic in a garlic, mix with sour cream. Serve the resulting sauce with cabbage and meatballs in North Slovakian style.
