  • - 750 ml of weak chicken broth;
  • - 6 tbsp. olive oil;
  • - 1, 5 large onions;
  • - 2 small cloves of garlic;
  • - 1, 5 tsp ground cumin (cumin);
  • - 1, 5 tsp ground coriander;
  • - 2, 25 tsp mild curry powder;
  • - 15 boxes of cardamom;
  • - dried thyme greens;
  • - 300 g of basmati rice;
  • - sea salt and black pepper to taste;
  • - 30 large unpeeled tiger prawns.

Instructions

Step 1

We put the oven on heating up to 200 degrees. Cut a circle out of baking or parchment paper so that its diameter is slightly larger than the diameter of the shape in which we will cook pilaf. Cut a small round hole in the center of the circle - steam will escape through it.

Step 2

Peel the onion and chop it into a small cube. Chop the garlic into small cubes (or you can grate it on a fine grater).

Step 3

Heat 6 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large, thick-walled frying pan with a detachable handle. We spread the onion cubes, chopped garlic, all the spices and dried thyme. Fry for about 3 minutes.

Step 4

Then add Basmati rice (it is ideal for pilaf) and fry for about a minute, adding sea salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 5

In a separate saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil and pour into the skillet with rice. Quickly put the shrimp on the boiling pan, cover it carefully with paper and put it in the preheated oven. Cooking time depends on your oven, but on average it is about 20 minutes. Look: the rice has to absorb all the water. Let the finished dish stand for about 5-7 minutes without removing the paper.
