No matter how pleasing the dish is to the eye, food without sauce is like a rimless diamond: it seems beautiful, but something is missing. Tired of mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard? Try a green mint and cucumber sauce.
It is necessary
- - creamy yogurt without fruit additives 200 g
- - cucumbers 2 pcs.
- - 1 clove garlic
- - fresh mint leaves (bunch)
- - olive oil 1/2 tsp
- - salt (pinch)
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the cucumbers and peel them. Cut into small pieces.
Step 2
Grate a clove of garlic on a fine grater, add to the cucumbers and mix everything in a blender until a mushy consistency. If there is no blender, grate the cucumbers and garlic and pass through a sieve.
Step 3
Rinse the mint leaves with cold water, let dry. Chop finely and grind with a pestle in a bowl of salt.
Step 4
Put the yogurt in a saucepan, add olive oil, cucumber porridge and mint. Whisk until the sauce is evenly green.
Step 5
Put the prepared sauce in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to let the mint and cucumbers brew.
Mint sauce is served with fish, poultry and meat dishes. Also, the sauce can be used as a dressing for fruit and vegetable salads, but in this case, garlic must be excluded from the ingredients.
