Baked apples are an excellent light dessert, which is not a shame to serve to the most demanding gourmet. And if you add dried fruits and honey as a filling, they will also be a useful product.
For baking, it is very important to choose apples of the same size, so that as a result of cooking, you do not get under-baked or baked fruits. Both red and green varieties can be used in this dish. The only condition is that they should not be too harsh.
Apples should be thoroughly washed under running water, dried and carefully cut out the core with a tail, without cutting the fruit itself. The deeper the cut, the more filling you can put inside, and the dish will turn out to be sweeter.
Then you should rinse the dried fruits and cut them into small thin pieces. Dried fruits need to be mixed with honey, at the rate of 2 tsp. honey on an apple, and let stand for a while. For a specific flavor, you can add some cinnamon to the filling. This mixture must be stuffed with apples.
Fruits should be placed on a baking sheet and placed in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. You need to bake the dish for 20-30 minutes, until the apple peel wrinkles and the fruit itself becomes soft. Ready fruits should be slightly cooled before serving, sprinkled with cinnamon or powdered sugar.
Apples with dried fruits can be cooked in a different way. They will have the same taste, but the shape will be slightly different. To do this, you need to cut the fruit across into several pieces, 0.5 cm thick. Then put the apple pieces together with dried fruits in a plate with honey for 20-30 minutes. The honey should completely cover all the fruits.
After the allotted time, apples in honey should be planted on a skewer, alternating with dried fruits. In this case, one of the ends of the skewer should not stick out from the base of the apple so that it can stand on the platter. Then the apples must be placed in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. Thanks to this cutting, the baked apples will take the shape of a round flower. Ready apples should be taken out and sprinkled with ground cinnamon.
