Humanity should be grateful to goats not only for their nutritious milk, but also for a wonderful discovery - coffee. The shepherd noticed that his goats were running vigorously after eating the red berries and did not sleep all night. He himself decided to try these berries and realized what their potential is.
Press brewing is one of the most common ways to brew this drink in Europe. With the help of the press, you can make your own coffee the European way.
1. Fill the kettle with water and place on the stove over high heat. When the water boils, remove the kettle from the heat. While you wait for it to boil, you can move on to the next step.
2. Remove the press cover together with the filter.
3. Preheat the French press with hot tap water. This will prevent the glass from cracking from the temperature drop when you pour boiling water from the kettle.
4. Measure out the correct amount of coffee beans and add to the grinder. The proportion is approximately 1 tablespoon of medium to fine ground coffee for every 140 g of water. The amount depends on your preference. If you like strong coffee, you can increase the amount of coffee in proportion to 2 tablespoons, or decrease if you like weak coffee.
5. Throw out the tap water from the French press. Place the ground coffee on the bottom.
6. Pour the water from the kettle into the French press. Wait for the ground coffee particles to drown in the water.
7. Replace the filter and French press lid. Lower the filter until about 5 cm remains until the day. Let the coffee particles steep for 3-4 minutes, then lower the filter all the way.
8. Rotate the lid to align the hole with the spout of the French press and pour the coffee into the cup.
