It is necessary

    • cranberries - 1 kg;
    • granulated sugar - 2 cups.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare berries for processing. Sort through them, leaving only the ripest and most intact. Remove any twigs, leaves, and any other debris you may have. Then rinse thoroughly under running water.

Step 2

Soften the cranberries. To do this, put the berries in a saucepan, pour over boiling water and hold them in hot water for a couple of minutes, then drain the boiling water. You can blanch the cranberries in another way - put them in a colander and put them in a pot of boiling water that completely covers the berries, also for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Let the berries cool slightly, and then scroll them through a meat grinder. Add sugar to the resulting mass and stir thoroughly until it is completely dissolved. You can add sugar syrup instead so that you don't have to stir the sugar for a long time. Divide the jam into the jars.

Step 4

Sterilize the jam jars. Fill a large, wide saucepan with water, put unsealed cans in there so that no boiling water gets inside, and put the saucepan on high heat. After the water boils, turn the heat down and hold the jars for about 10-20 minutes.

Step 5

While the jars are being sterilized, the same should be done with the lids. To do this, dip them in boiling water in a separate bowl and boil for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Roll up the jars with boiled lids and put them in a warm, dark place, wrapped in a blanket. After a couple of days, take them out and leave them in a cool, dark place until winter.

Step 7

This method of making jam eliminates the long heat treatment of berries, which allows you to preserve all vitamins and minerals, as well as the taste and color of natural cranberries.
