Kissel has been known for a long time. This is a very nutritious, high-calorie and healthy drink for the stomach. It contains many vitamins and minerals. You can cook it from different fruits and berries. Combined jelly is especially tasty. This recipe describes a method of making homemade apple-cranberry jelly.
It is necessary
-
- 5 medium apples;
- 150 g cranberries;
- 150 g sugar;
- 50 g starch;
- 3.5 liters of water.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the apples well. Cut them into small slices, remove the core with seeds, remove the skin. Pour in hot water (3 L) and cook for 15-20 minutes. Rub the boiled apples through a sieve into a small container. Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve.
Step 2
Sort the cranberries and rinse well. Let the water drain completely or dry the berries with a towel. Squeeze the juice from the cranberries into a non-oxidizing container, close the lid and refrigerate. Boil the berry pulp in a little hot water (250 ml) for 5-10 minutes. Strain the broth through a fine sieve. Berry extracts are no longer needed.
Step 3
Combine apple and cranberry decoctions. Add granulated sugar to them, stirring occasionally, heat to a boil. Remove the resulting foam from the surface of the broth.
Step 4
Pour potato starch into a container, dilute with cold drinking water, stirring the suspension until completely dissolved. Avoid clumping. Continuously, stirring evenly, pour the dissolved starch into the hot broth. After that, bring the jelly to a boil and add the grated apples. When the jelly boils again, pour squeezed and cooled cranberry juice into it. Remove the jelly from the heat.
