Sea buckthorn juice

Sea buckthorn berries are extremely rich in vitamins. Suffice it to say that it contains more vitamin C than citrus fruits, and besides it - B, E, K, P, PP. Juice from fresh berries preserves the unique properties of sea buckthorn. They prepare it like this. Boil and cool water at the rate of 700 ml per 1 kg of berries. Rinse the sea buckthorn thoroughly with cold running water, place in a large saucepan and crush. Pour boiled water over the berries and stir. Squeeze the juice, pour into jars, sterilize and seal.

Sea buckthorn has other names - golden tree, ivothern, wax, white thorn, broom and even Siberian pineapple.

Sea buckthorn oil

This is not the kind of oil that is used to lubricate the skin if irritation occurs. Sea buckthorn oil can also be spread on bread, but, of course, it must be prepared in a special way. It looks more like cake cream. For a pack of butter, you need a glass of sea buckthorn berries and half a glass of powdered sugar. Remove the oil from the refrigerator, place in a bowl and wait until it softens. Grind the berries (you can, for example, drive them through a meat grinder). Mix the sea buckthorn with the icing sugar. Add the resulting mass to butter and grind with a mixer.

Sea buckthorn is contraindicated for people with high acidity.

Sea buckthorn with fermented baked milk

To prepare this dish, take ½ cup of fresh sea buckthorn berries and the same amount of sugar. Crush the berries with sugar, and then mix with fermented baked milk in a 1: 1 ratio. Instead of fermented baked milk, you can take kefir. If the dessert seems too sour for you, add sugar to taste.

Tonic drink

You can prepare sea buckthorn for the winter as follows. Prepare clean plastic or paper bags. Rinse the berries thoroughly and chop in any convenient way, then put them in bags of about 100 g each and place in the freezer. Sea buckthorn can lie there for a long time. To make a tonic drink concentrate, take:

- 1 glass of water;

- 100 g of sea buckthorn;

- 1 tbsp. l. honey.

Bring water to a boil. Remove from the stove and boil the sea buckthorn. Wait until it cools down, add honey. The tincture can be added to tea (preferably green) or simply diluted with water.

Sea buckthorn and sea buckthorn wine

Alcoholic drinks are also prepared from sea buckthorn. For example, for an alcoholic tincture, take 0.5 kg of berries for 0.5 liters of vodka. Wash the berries, crush and put in a jar. Pour in vodka and leave to infuse at room temperature. After about a month, strain the drink, remove the berries, and pour the tincture into a bottle. To prepare wine, you need sea buckthorn juice and water in a ratio of 5: 4. The amount of sugar is 1/6 of the total amount of liquid. Stir water and juice in a large jar, add sugar and let ferment. When the wine is fermented, bottle it, cork it and place it in the cellar. Soak it for a year - and you will get a magnificent invigorating wine of a beautiful amber color.
