Many people constantly have a desire to eat something. From a physiological point of view, this is quite common, but from a psychological point of view, it is not always clear. What can cause such an urgent need for food, even if you recently ate a heavy meal?
Very often, people seize any of their problems, they eat when they are stressed, they eat when they are afraid, they eat at a time when they have relationship problems. Very often, before the exam, students seize their excitement with several bars of chocolate. Others, on the contrary, do not eat absolutely anything and may even faint in hunger. You should not go to extremes, it is unlikely that this will help you to correctly understand your desire to eat.
What are the causes of hunger?
1. If a person is too notorious or constrained, then food can give him a feeling of support. This is especially true for adolescents, but insecure adults can also suffer from it. If you do not know how to give or receive support through love and care, then you are trying to get this feeling with the help of food, which is very wrong. Food cannot compensate you for this love.
2. Very often the need for water, thirst, is interpreted as the need to eat something.
3. People try to attract attention to themselves, to show their importance. For example, if a man is the head of the family, quite full, then it is quite possible that the problem may be that in the family he was treated without due respect. Trying to gain authority, he seems to say - look how big I am, pay attention to me. Or another situation, when a child in childhood did not receive enough love and affection from his parents, in adulthood he begins to eat a lot, he has health problems. Thus he says - look how poor I am, have pity on me, love me.
4. Weight gain is also associated with career advancement. People who occupy big positions, as it were, say - look how big I am, how significant I am, I am worthy of your attention and respect.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule. Through introspection, you can determine your attitude towards food. First you need to understand your head, because bulimia, like anorexia, is an exclusively psychological disease and you need to fight them in your head. Perhaps a few tips from professional psychologists will allow you to get the care and support you need and figure out what feelings you are trying to get, or vice versa, eat food.
