- - ginger - 150 g;
- - lemon - 0.5 pcs.;
- - orange - 1 pc.;
- - sugar - 230 g;
- - zhelfix - 5 g.
Instructions
Step 1
After thoroughly washing the citrus fruits, remove the zest from them with a fine grater. Do this procedure very carefully, being careful not to touch the white part underneath.
Step 2
Then, using a citrus juicer, squeeze the juice out of the orange and half of the lemon. If you do not have this device, then simply chop the pulp of these fruits into rather small pieces, place it on cheesecloth and squeeze well. The most important thing in this procedure is to prevent bones and any other unnecessary fibers from getting into the juice.
Step 3
With ginger, do the following: Peel and rinse the surface of the ginger. Chop the rest. It is best to use a medium-sized grater for this procedure.
Step 4
Place the chopped ginger in a saucepan, as well as 100 ml of squeezed citrus juice, gelatin, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and the zest removed from one orange and half a lemon. Mix everything properly. Place the mixture on the stove and, stirring continuously, bring it to a boil. By the way, the dishes for preparing this mass should be used one with a thick bottom.
Step 5
Pour the remaining granulated sugar into the boiling mass. Mix everything properly, then bring it to a boil again. Once this happens, cook the ginger jam for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Cool the resulting mass and pour into a glass container. Ginger jam is ready!
