Tomatoes harvested for the winter according to this recipe can be used to make pizza, as well as to season soups. Tomatoes perfectly retain their taste and can complement the taste of your favorite dishes.

It is necessary

  • - fleshy tomatoes - 1.5 kg;
  • - granulated sugar - 1 tsp;
  • - garlic - 2 cloves;
  • - a mixture of peppers to taste;
  • - thyme or dried basil - 1 tsp;
  • - olive oil - 5-6 tbsp. l.;
  • - sea coarse salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Wash the tomatoes, dry with a napkin, remove the stalks and cut into halves. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and arrange the tomatoes neatly, cut side up.

Step 2

Season the tomatoes with salt and lightly sprinkle with granulated sugar. Add pepper, dry thyme, or basil to the tomatoes. Drizzle olive oil over the tomato slices.

Step 3

Pass the garlic through a press and arrange in random order on the tomato slices. Bake the tomatoes for three hours in a preheated oven at 150 degrees.

Step 4

Place the finished baked tomatoes in prepared jars. Add the oil that remains on the baking sheet to the jars with tomatoes, screw the jars with the screw lids and put them in the hot, but turned off oven for another 30 minutes, placing a silicone mold or a towel folded several times under the jars so that the jars do not burst from the high temperature.

Step 5

After 30 minutes of dry sterilization, remove the jars from the oven, turn upside down and leave to cool completely. You do not need to wrap the jars with a blanket.
