Everyone has long known that hawthorn berries have a beneficial effect not only on the cardiovascular system, but also on the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, the fruits of this wonderful plant reduce blood pressure. I suggest you prepare them for the winter for future use - make hawthorn jam.
It is necessary
- - hawthorn berries - 2 kg;
- - sugar - 1.5 kg;
- - water - 1 glass.
Instructions
Step 1
First, sort out the hawthorn berries. Then rinse them thoroughly under running water and dry them on a clean dry cloth.
Step 2
Jam from these berries will not be cooked on the stove, but in the oven, so carefully pour the dried hawthorn into a baking tray with high sides. Then add the following ingredients to it: water and granulated sugar. Mix everything properly. After preheating the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees, send the resulting mixture into it.
Step 3
Watch carefully when the jam begins to boil - a foam will begin to form on the mass of hawthorn berries. Take it out from time to time and stir gently with a wooden spoon. After the foam has passed, the berries will take on a transparent shade.
Step 4
After boiling, cook the hawthorn jam in the oven for another half hour. After the time has elapsed, check readiness. If a drop of it does not spread over the plate, then this means that it has been cooked and must be removed from the oven.
Step 5
After cooling the sweet berry mass, transfer it to the prepared dish. Hawthorn jam is ready! It will stand at room temperature for one year.
