Step 1

Prepare bananas - peel them and cut into several pieces. You can choose the size of the parts yourself. The first option is circles 1-2 cm thick. Another option is to first cut the fruit into 3-4 pieces across, and then cut each piece in half lengthwise. Mini bananas can be sliced lengthwise immediately.

Step 2

Melt the butter in a skillet, add sugar and, stirring occasionally, bring to a boil over medium heat. You can use plain sugar or cane sugar according to your taste. The latter is healthier, according to nutritionists, and safer for the figure. From regular sugar, the caramel color can range from creamy and golden to bronze and brown. Do not over-burn or the taste will be spoiled. Brown sugar will add a darker hue.

Put prepared bananas in the resulting boiling caramel and fry them until golden brown on both sides.

Step 4

Reduce the heat, pour the fried bananas with vodka and simmer under the lid for 3-5 minutes - the vodka should completely evaporate, otherwise the dish will taste bitter and smell like alcohol. Actually, vodka is not a fundamental ingredient. If you don't want to, you can skip alcohol at all.

Step 5

Without allowing the caramel to solidify, place the prepared bananas on plates immediately after cooking. Garnish with whipped cream, honey, yogurt, and sprinkle with nuts, coconut, powdered sugar and / or cinnamon.
