Chicken hearts are a hearty, flavorful and inexpensive product that will appeal to even those who do not like offal. And sour cream will make the dish with this ingredient tender and soft. There are many recipes for stewed hearts, and you can cut them in different ways.
Before cooking, you need to properly process the offal. First, the hearts need to be rinsed well, remove the tubes and veins, leave them intact or chop them. They can be cut lengthwise into several pieces, across into circles or strips. It is better to dilute the sour cream in a dish with water, put various spices, tomato paste and garlic in it. Hearts can also become the main course for dinner or lunch if you add other ingredients to them: potatoes, mushrooms, pasta, etc.
To prepare hearts in sour cream according to the classic recipe, it will take no more than 40 minutes. This dish with sauce is perfect for any side dishes: mashed potatoes, buckwheat, rice, etc.
To do this, you will need 500 g of offal, 1 onion, 150 g of sour cream, 1 carrot, 1 tbsp. flour, salt and spices (black pepper, dried parsley and dill, marjoram), a little vegetable oil, 1 glass of water.
After mechanical processing, the hearts are cut into strips, the onions are cut into cubes, and the carrots are chopped on a coarse grater. First, onion is fried in a hot frying pan, after 1 minute carrots are poured into it, after 10 minutes they put hearts and turn on the fire to maximum. It is important to fry them until golden brown appears. This means that the hearts in the finished dish will be juicy. After that, the fire is made weak, water is poured in and stewed under the lid for 20 minutes, then flour is poured, mix well, leave for another 5 minutes and pour sour cream over the dish, add spices and salt, stew for 3 minutes and turn off the fire.
It is important to remember that the sauce is obtained, and the sour cream does not curl, it is first mixed with several tablespoons of hot water, and then poured into a pan to the hearts.
