This homemade dish is loved by every family. Dumplings, the dish is simply gorgeous and versatile. It is prepared from any meat: chicken, beef, pork, game meat and even minced fish. The ingredients are not expensive and the result is worth the hassle. At the same time, homemade dumplings, made with care and love, will always be tastier than store-bought ones. In the store, preservatives are added to dumplings, chemicals are used to retain water in the minced meat, and cheap raw materials are used. It is worth thinking twice what is more important to you, tasty and healthy food or no hassle.
This is a recipe for classic minced meat dumplings. The meat specified in the recipe can be replaced with any meat you like without changing the ratio of ingredients. You can use: beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, game, duck.
Ingredients for the dough:
- Flour 3 cups (+1 glass for adding)
- Chicken egg 1 piece
- Water 1 glass
- Salt 1 pinch
- Vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
Ingredients for minced meat:
- Pork 500 g.
- Milk 200 ml. (1 glass)
- Onion 2 small onions
- Garlic optional 2-5 cloves
- Salt 2 pinches
- Ground black pepper 1 pinch
Dough preparation
Pour 3 cups of flour on the table and make a crater, leaving no flour in the center. Pour vegetable oil, egg, water into the middle of the crater, add salt and carefully start mixing with flour. Gradually tighten the flour by hand into the center of the crater and mix with liquid until a thick mass forms there. Mix the thick mass with all the flour on the table and knead thoroughly.
The dough we received must be put in a container and covered with a towel or plastic. The covered dough will “rest” for 30 minutes, and then it will need to be kneaded again.
The dough after the second kneading rests for another 30 minutes, after which it is ready for rolling.
Minced meat
The meat must be washed under running water and cut into small pieces, the onion must be peeled, washed and chopped too. Scroll the pork and onions in a meat grinder, add to them: milk, salt, black pepper and mix thoroughly.
Dumplings
Roll out the dough 1 mm thick, constantly pouring flour under it. Cut out circles from the rolled out layer of dough using a regular glass.
Put a teaspoon of minced meat in the middle of the mug, close up the mugs, folding it in half. We fasten the tails of the resulting "dumpling" and get a dumpling already.
Cooking dumplings
Such dumplings are boiled for 5 minutes or 7 if they are frozen in salted water.
Dumplings are served with any sauce: sour cream, butter, vinegar, ketchup, mayonnaise, adjika, cheese or garlic.
