This national Spanish dish is made with rice, vegetables, seafood or chicken. Olive oil and various spices are also added to it. Thanks to these ingredients, paella is distinguished not only by its original taste, but also by its great nutritional value.

It is necessary

  • - 1 liter of vegetable or fish broth;
  • - 500 g of mussels in the shells;
  • - 600 g of shrimp;
  • - 1 onion;
  • - 500 g of rice;
  • - 1 bell pepper;
  • - olive oil;
  • - 3 tomatoes;
  • - 4 cloves of garlic;
  • - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of paprika;
  • - a bunch of parsley;
  • - lemon;
  • - salt to taste.

Instructions

Step 1

Defrost shrimps and mussels at room temperature. Peel the shrimp. Rinse the rice several times in water so that it becomes crumbly.

Step 2

In a skillet with thick sides and bottom, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion, bell pepper and finely chopped garlic in it. Add another 3 tablespoons of olive oil, add rice to the vegetables and mix everything.

Step 3

After a couple of minutes, add the peeled and diced tomatoes and the paprika to the skillet. Mix everything well and pour in warm broth. Salt.

Step 4

Simmer the dish over low heat without a lid. When the broth is absorbed, add the shrimp and mussels to the paella. Cover and simmer for another 5 minutes. Arrange the finished paella on plates and serve, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.
