Ingredients:

  • Salted herring - 1 pc;
  • Medium potatoes - 5 pcs;
  • Carrots - 3 pcs;
  • Large beets - 1 piece;
  • Medium onions - 1 pc;
  • Chicken egg - 3 pcs;
  • Mayonnaise - 1 pack (200 g).

Preparation:

  1. Rinse the salted herring under water, cut off the head and fins, and remove the entrails. After that, cut the fish along the spine and remove the main ridge with costal bones. Cut the herring into small pieces, while removing the remaining small bones.
  2. Rinse potatoes, carrots, beets well from dirt and steam in a uniform. After the end of cooking, remove the vegetables and cool, then peel them.
  3. Peel the onions and cut into small cubes. Hard-boiled eggs and cool, peel them. For the salad, prepare a flat round dish or a large herring.
  4. At the bottom of the dish on a coarse grater, grate the potatoes, on top of the potatoes, put slices of chopped herring and onion into cubes. Smear a little with mayonnaise.
  5. Next, grate chicken eggs and coat with mayonnaise again. A layer of eggs is covered with grated carrots, greased with mayonnaise and the last layer will be chopped beets.
  6. The top layer of beets with mayonnaise should be greased more abundantly than the bottom layers.
