In order to quickly boil beets, you can use the microwave. This root vegetable is boiled in the microwave in two ways: with or without water.
It is necessary
- - 4 medium-sized beets;
- - 1 onion;
- - 1 tbsp. vegetable oil;
- - 1 tablespoon flour;
- - 1, 5 glasses of sour cream;
- - table vinegar, salt, pepper - to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the beets and pat dry. Take a microwave-safe dish, place the beets in the center of the container and add half a glass of water. Close it with a lid, but not tightly. When the lid is tightly closed, the cookware can burst from pressure. You can use the microwave cover-cap, which has a steam outlet valve.
Step 2
Place the dishes in the microwave, set full power and set the time to 7 minutes. After this time, turn the beets over to the other side and cook for another 7 minutes. Then leave it covered for 5-6 minutes. Check the doneness of the beets with a knife or toothpick. Cook it for a few more minutes if necessary.
Step 3
To boil beets in the microwave without water, use a regular plastic bag. Place the washed beets in a bag and tie it up. Punch holes in it for steam to escape with a fork. Place the bag of beets in the microwave and cook on full power for 10-12 minutes.
Step 4
Try cooking an original boiled beetroot dish in the microwave - baked beets with onions. Wash the beets, boil them in a bag as described above. Chill the finished root vegetable, peel and chop finely.
Step 5
Place the chopped beets in a microwave oven, add finely chopped onions and some vegetable oil. Microwave the beets for 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Combine sour cream and some flour in a bowl. Add salt, ground black pepper and a dash of vinegar to the mixture. Pour this mixture over the beets and place in the microwave for 6-7 minutes, reducing the power by half.
