It is necessary

  • - 3 liters of milk;
  • - 1 kg of white sugar;
  • - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of lemon juice;
  • - 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Instructions

Step 1

Pour sugar into a large saucepan, pour milk into it, put on medium heat. Cook, stirring continuously, until all the sugar is dissolved. Watch out for the contents of the pan, do not leave the kitchen anywhere, otherwise the sugar may burn! When the sugar has all melted, you have to wait for the milk to boil.

Step 2

Remove the pot from the stove, add lemon juice and baking soda. Return the pot to the heat again, bring to a boil. After boiling, mark exactly 3 hours. Cook on a low boil. The milk will foam a little, do not worry, over time the foam will disappear by itself. The longer the milk is boiled, the darker it will become.

Step 3

At the end of the boil, taste the milk to the consistency you need. To do this, take a plate, drip boiled milk on it, if the drop spreads, then the condensed milk is thin. if the drop stands still, and after a couple of minutes thickens, then you can stop boiling the milk. Just keep in mind that the milk will become even thicker as it cools!

Step 4

Pour the finished homemade condensed milk into convenient containers. It is very convenient to store boiled condensed milk in half-liter jars, but it can also be poured into hermetically sealed containers.
