Most of the first and second courses contain carrots and onions, without which the food seems tasteless. To add these vegetables to a dish, you must first stew them. However, even this seemingly simple process has its own tricks.
It is necessary

- 1 onion;
- 1-2 carrots;
- 3-4 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- salt
- pepper;
- other ingredients as desired.
Instructions
Step 1
Take one medium onion. To keep your eyes from watering when cleaning and cutting, you must first place the onion in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Peel the onion with a knife and rinse it under cold water.
Step 3
Cut the onions into cubes, half rings, or quarters. The size of the cut pieces of onion is individual. Someone does not like the onion to be seen in the dish, while someone, on the contrary, loves coarsely chopped.
Step 4
Pour in 3-4 tbsp. tablespoons of refined sunflower oil in a dry and clean skillet and heat it over high heat.
Step 5
Fry the onions until golden brown. Do not forget to stir constantly so that it does not burn.
Step 6
Peel 1-2 carrots and wash under the tap. If the carrot is fresh, then the peel is simply scraped with a knife from the tail to the root. Carrots are peeled especially quickly with a peeler.
Step 7
Grate on a coarse grater (for speed) or cut into strips or cubes.
Step 8
Add carrots to onions. Stew carrots and onions correctly for 10-15 minutes. At the same time, reduce the fire, and cover the frying pan with a lid. You can add a little boiled water.
Step 9
Add 1-2 tablespoons to the carrot onion mixture. tablespoons of tomato paste or 2 tomatoes. You can also put bell pepper cut into strips or rings there.
Step 10
Season with salt and pepper, then cook for a couple more minutes and the carrots are braised. Sprinkle with herbs if necessary.
Step 11
Combine the side dish of pasta, buckwheat or rice, potatoes, meat dishes, mushrooms, beans, zucchini or any other food with stewed carrots. You can add the prepared mixture to the soup. Chilled stewed carrots with onions are used as a salad, if you add green peas or chopped radishes with cucumbers.
