It is necessary

  • Ingredients for a 3 liter jar:
  • - watermelon - 1 pc.;
  • - water - 1300 g;
  • - sugar - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • - salt - 1 tablespoon;
  • - vinegar (9%) - 50 ml.

Instructions

Step 1

We sterilize the jars. Rinse the watermelon under running water, cut it in half, then into slices (1-2 cm thick). We put the pieces of watermelon in a jar so that later you can easily get a piece out of the jar and eat it without cutting it.

Step 2

Fill the fruits with boiling water. We close the lids and leave the jars to cool for about 35-40 minutes.

Step 3

After the contents in the jars have cooled down, pour the water into a saucepan, put it back on the fire and bring to a boil. As soon as the water boils, fill it with cans of watermelons again, cover them with lids and leave to cool again. The cooling time is the same as the first time.

Step 4

After cooling down, pour the liquid into a saucepan again and put the water on fire for the third time. After the water boils, we make a marinade: add vinegar, sugar and salt to boiling water. Boil the marinade and pour it into jars.

Step 5

We close them with sterilized lids, then roll up the fruits for the winter, turn the jars upside down, cover them with a warm blanket and cool for 2-3 days (cold sterilization).
