Making homemade noodles is easy and time consuming. Especially if you don't have a pasta machine and have to roll out the dough by hand. In such a situation, of course, it is more convenient to make a lot of noodles, but then the question arises - how to store it? It depends on how long you expect.

Instructions

Step 1

Organize a place to dry your noodles. The most convenient option is special racks. They can be used to dry not only noodles, but also layers of lasagna dough, thin pasta and other pasta. If you don't have these, hang clean linen tea towels over the backs of several chairs. Some people dry the noodles in a clothes dryer, also covering them with towels beforehand. The short, thick noodles are simply dried on a horizontal surface lined with clean napkins.

Step 2

Sprinkle flour on the noodles before drying. Place the short noodles in a bowl of flour and stir well there. Shake off excess flour and arrange pasta in a single layer on counters or countertops. Make sure the noodles are not sticky together, that the strips do not stick to each other.

Step 3

If you want to store the noodles for more than a month, it is best to freeze them. To do this, dry the noodles for about 20 minutes, then carefully lay out in one layer on boards and send them to the freezer. When the noodles freeze a little, arrange them in containers, write the production date on them and send them back to the freezer. These noodles can be stored for up to 6 months.

Step 4

If you do not plan to store the noodles for more than 3-7 days, dry them slightly and put them in a zip bag or container. Put it in the refrigerator.

Step 5

To store the noodles in the pantry or kitchen cabinets, they must be thoroughly dried beforehand. This can take up to 24 hours. Properly dried noodles are tough and brittle. Since mold can easily develop on such noodles, make sure that the container in which you put them is tightly closed and the storage area is dry. Dry noodles can be stored for about 1 month.

Step 6

Boiled homemade noodles without broth, minced meat or sauce can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for about a week. If you want to keep the boiled noodles for longer, mix them with a little melted butter or oil (this will prevent them from sticking together), place in a container or zip bag, and freeze. These noodles can be stored in the freezer for about 3 months.
