Potato tubers are not only a nutritious and tasty product, but also enrich the body with amino acids, carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, iodine, sulfur, vitamins A, C, PP, and B1. Harvested potatoes, if stored properly, do not deteriorate for a long time, which makes it possible to make stocks of this product, which are especially relevant in winter. But raw tubers are not suitable for human consumption. To make potatoes edible, you need to properly process them.

It is necessary

  • - potatoes,
  • - pan,
  • - frying pan,
  • - crush or potato grinder,
  • - foil,
  • - sunflower oil.

Instructions

Step 1

To make a potato dish, peel the tubers. To do this, take the potato in your left hand and the knife in your right. Cut off the skin in a thin layer, starting at one end of the tuber and spiraling until the entire skin has been removed. Be sure to rinse the potatoes after cleaning.

Step 2

Some dishes require you to cut the potatoes into slices. To do this, place the potato on a cutting board and cut in half. Lay each half cut down and cut into small pieces.

Step 3

To boil the tubers, fill a pot with cold water, dip a few peeled potatoes into it, and put the pot on the fire. Season with salt to taste. After 20-30 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and remove the cooked potatoes.

Step 4

If you want to make mashed potatoes, place the boiled tubers in a deep bowl and add a small amount of the liquid left over from cooking the product. Mash the tubers with a crush or potato grinder.

Step 5

To bake jacket potatoes, preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Rinse the tubers and, without removing the skin, wrap each in a piece of foil. Place the wrapped potatoes on a baking sheet and place in the oven. After 30-40 minutes, turn off the heat and remove the prepared tubers.

Step 6

For fried potatoes, place a skillet over medium heat and preheat. Then pour some oil into the bowl and put the sliced tubers on top. Stir the potatoes until the slices are golden brown on all sides. Remove skillet from heat.

Step 7

To deep-fry the product, pour the required amount of sunflower oil into the deep fat fryer, place a special grid in the container and turn on the device. Place the potato slices in the boiling oil. After 15-20 minutes, turn off the fryer and remove the wire rack with toasted slices.
