In the Caribbean, green banana dishes are just as common as potato or zucchini dishes are here. True, they cook mostly slightly different, large bananas with poorly peeling peel.
Large green bananas are not easy to find in supermarkets, so regular green bananas can be used, although the taste will be slightly different.

Latin Americans eat this dish for breakfast with scrambled eggs, and as a side dish for fish and seafood, and as an independent dish. It is curious that in Cuba it is customary to drink Patacones with sweet coffee.

Each is sprinkled with salt and a mixture of black and hot red pepper. Then it is rolled in flour and fried on all sides in oil. Served with rice.
