Potatoes baked with lard turn out to be tender, aromatic and tasty. This is a very simple recipe that doesn't require any special cooking knowledge. Despite the simplicity of the cooking process, this dish will surely surprise your guests.
Ingredients:
- 6 large potatoes (oblong);
- 100 g of lard with streaks of meat;
- 2 onions;
- 50 g sunflower oil;
- salt, seasonings, garlic;
- cheese to taste.
Preparation:
- Choose a large potato for cooking, without damage, the number of pieces may vary up or down.
- To begin with, it should be thoroughly washed, since you do not need to remove the peel from it. You can clean with a regular dishwashing sponge (hard side) or a small brush.
- Dry the processed potatoes with a towel. Make deep transverse cuts along the entire length of the potato tubers 4-5 mm wide; a randomly cut piece of potato can be secured with a toothpick. The main thing is not to forget to pull it out before use, so as not to get hurt.
- Cut a piece of bacon into thin slices (slices), for piquancy they can be grated with garlic gruel.
- Add a little salt to the potatoes, sprinkle with a mixture of seasonings (to your taste), try to get these ingredients into the cuts of the potatoes.
- Insert a piece of chopped bacon into each cut (if it is not enough, then cut it).
- Cut the peeled onions into half rings.
- Prepare foil. It should be sized to completely wrap one potato.
- Distribute the chopped onion on each piece of foil, then put on potatoes with bacon, season again and drizzle with a little oil. Wrap each potato in foil and bake in the oven for 50 minutes (at 200 degrees).
- After a lapse of time, remove the potatoes, unfold the foil and, in this form, send back to the oven for 10 minutes to brown (the same temperature).
- The finished dish goes well with vegetable cuts or any vegetable salads.
