Appetizing roses can be prepared with any filling: meat, liver, fish, potato, and also used as an unusual version of manti, that is, steamed dumplings.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - flour;
- - 2/3 glass of water;
- - 1 egg;
- - 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
- - 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise;
- For filling:
- - potatoes;
- - butter;
- - bulb onions;
- - spices (ground pepper, nutmeg);
- - salt;
- For coloring:
- - butter (for lubrication);
- - tomato paste (ketchup);
Instructions
Step 1
Knead elastic dough, roll it into a ball, leave to stand.
Step 2
Make the filling. Prepare mashed potatoes from boiled potatoes.
Fry chopped onions until golden brown.
After removing from heat, put mashed potatoes in fried onions, add butter, salt, spices to taste, mix everything well until smooth. Allow to cool.
Step 3
Roll out the dough into elongated rectangles.
Spread the filling over the dough, leaving the edges free.
Step 4
Moisten the edges of the dough with water, fold the strip along the length and press the edges tightly around the entire perimeter so that there is less air inside.
Step 5
Having rolled the blank into a roll, give the shape of a "rose" by expanding the "petals".
Steam "roses" (in a mantover, in a saucepan on a wire rack, in a double boiler) for 45-60 minutes, after having greased the base with butter.
Step 6
Mix ketchup or tomato paste with water so that it is not very liquid and not very thick. Immerse ready-made hot roses in a saucepan with tomato paste, for dyeing in a pale pink color. Then serve immediately.
