The easiest way is to stew cabbage in a skillet according to the classic recipe. Rinse and chop the cabbage finely. Place it in a saucepan with a little oil. Cover and simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes. To make the dish richer and tastier, add other vegetables and seasonings. Peel and cut the onion into rings, coarsely grate the carrots. Peel the tomatoes by dipping them in boiling water for a few seconds, then immediately placing them in the water, cut them into slices.

Saute the onions and carrots for three minutes, then place the tomatoes over them and continue to heat for two minutes. Now it remains to add vegetables to the cooking cabbage and simmer for about ten minutes. Before you finish stewing the cabbage in the skillet, season with salt, sugar and pepper, and place the bay leaf in it. Stir the finished dish and then serve. It will turn out to be even more tender and tasty if you pour low-fat sour cream or sour cream sauce on top.

Try sautéing Peking cabbage or Savoy in a skillet for a gentler, more sophisticated dish that takes a little longer to cook. Prepare the head of cabbage by removing withered and unsightly leaves, rinsing and drying. Cut into wedges and remove the stalk. Chop each slice into thin strips.
