Apple cider vinegar is a healthy product in the kitchen. It has cleansing, toning and other properties. However, this only applies to a liquid that does not contain impurities and additives. Therefore, it is wise to make apple cider vinegar at home.
Making apple cider vinegar at home is the process of fermenting the fruit or juice. During this time, fruits and their derivatives become sweet cider, dry and become vinegar. There are different ways to get this product yourself.
One of the recipes for making apple cider vinegar
In this case, you need apple juice. Of course, we are talking about a freshly squeezed drink. It is desirable that there is no pulp in it. To get rid of it, strain the liquid through a sieve or cheesecloth.
Pour the juice into a bowl with a wide top, cover with cling film, pierced in several places with a needle, and place in the warmest place in your apartment or house. It is important that the container is located away from heating appliances. Otherwise, due to the accumulated pressure inside, the dishes may burst. To further protect yourself, it is recommended to use a wooden container with thick walls. Other materials (glass, plastic) are less durable and more dangerous.
The process of infusion and "ripening" of the liquid from the initial state to apple cider vinegar can take up to 12 weeks. Adding a small amount of yeast or wine culture to the mass will help to shorten the process.
After the vinegar reaches the acidity you want, strain and bottle. Please be aware that this product is extremely dangerous in untrained hands. Move it away from small children.
Apple cider vinegar from fresh fruits
To make apple cider vinegar from apples at home, you need to take ripe fruits of sweet varieties. Also you need:
- Grind the fruits with a meat grinder and put on the bottom of the dish. About what material it can be from, it was said earlier.
- Pour the mixture with warm boiled water or apple juice so that the liquid covers the apples completely.
- Add sugar. For 1 kg of apples, there are 50 g of sand.
- As in the previous case, cover the dishes with plastic wrap and place in a warm place.
After 2-4 weeks, strain the liquid, separating the fruit pulp from the apple cider vinegar. At the same time, place the latter in a washed dish and cover with foil for another 2-4 weeks until it is completely cooked.
