Even for those who know English well enough, the word "brunch" can be confusing. Meanwhile, it is precisely of English origin, the world owes its appearance to students. Many people liked it, so it is increasingly used in everyday life.
So what is brunch? This is a hybrid of two English words - breakfast and lunch, that is, a cross between breakfast and lunch - brunch. Imagine waking up too late for breakfast, but it's still a long way before lunch. This is where the brunch will help you out - you can have a quick bite to refresh your fading forces and somehow make it to dinner.
There are no exact recipes or directions for a homemade brunch. It is prepared very simply: you open the refrigerator and see what you can have a quick snack with. It can be just a sandwich, this option is one of the most democratic and widespread. After all, a sandwich can be made from almost anything - a slice of bread is cut off, after which what was found in the refrigerator is placed (smeared) on it. It can be a slice of ham or cheese, pâté, any caviar - from sturgeon to squash.
It is worth noting that the tradition of brunch dates back to the 19th century in famous Oxford. And in those days, brunch not only strengthened your strength, but also provided an opportunity to communicate in a relaxed atmosphere. Considering that people often lack just such communication, many cafes, restaurants, bars and other catering establishments have picked up the fashion trend and are now vying with each other to offer a new service to their visitors. And here there is no need to talk about any "light snack", you will be offered a full-fledged hearty menu.
Brunches on weekends have become especially popular - people get enough sleep, after which they go to a bar or cafe to chat with friends. For catering establishments, the appearance of another reason to eat is very profitable for customers, so the new service is well advertised.
Brunch can now be found in hotels, it often resembles a traditional "buffet". The guest chooses whatever he likes. Sometimes there are "thematic" options - in this case, the menu, for example, may contain only seafood or other delicacies.
Considering how quickly many foreign fashion trends are adopted in Russia, there is no doubt that brunch will soon become as popular on Russian soil as in other European countries.
