Fish & Chips is a traditional English dish. In translation, Fish and Chips is fish and fried potatoes. The dish is not the most healthy from the point of view of a healthy diet, since the ingredients are fried in oil, but it is very tasty and can be used as a hearty snack.
Ingredients for 4 persons:
- any white fish (for example, cod) - 700-800 g;
- 120 g of wheat flour;
- 100 g of corn starch;
- 250 ml of light beer;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- fresh parsley - a couple of twigs;
- 4 large potatoes;
- sunflower oil for frying.
Fish and Chips: the cooking process
First you need to prepare the batter. To do this, mix flour and cornstarch in a large bowl, gradually pour in beer, stirring the batter. Chop the parsley and add to the batter.
Cut the fish and potatoes into long, but not very thick slices, so that they have time to fry, but at the same time do not burn in oil.
Heat a large amount of oil in a skillet. Salt and pepper the fish, dip each piece in batter and fry until a beautiful golden color.
Heat the oil for the fries in another skillet. Fry the potatoes until golden brown.
Serve hot fish in batter with crispy fries. This dish will go with any sauce you like, for example, a mixture of mayonnaise, mustard and natural yogurt with the addition of herbs.
