There are so many things on the shelves that a person already finds it difficult to decide what to look for when buying a product. When choosing, many factors act on us, from the feeling of hunger at the moment to the music that sounds in the store. Let's analyze our mistakes.
Advertising
Whether we like it or not, advertising has a very strong effect on us. In stores, we often select the products that they advertise. This is easy to explain: a person does not like uncertainty. Imagine: you find yourself in a company where all are strangers, and you are not very comfortable. Suddenly (about happiness!) You see your friend … The same principle is in stores. On shelves where there are all unfamiliar brands, you will prefer the one that is more or less familiar to you (because you saw the ad).
Health, happiness, love and kindness… whatever they promise us in advertisements. But tell me, how can you believe that Coca-Cola brings happiness?
Packaging
What is your occupation? Doctor, engineer or designer? How long did you study to become a professional? There are professional marketers who have studied for a long time, whose job it is to come up with different tricks to draw attention to a particular product. One might say that packaging is such a trick. Once, in the Test Purchase program, they conducted such an experiment: the same product was packed in different packages, placed next to each other. One was bright and beautiful, and the other was rather modest. At the same time, due to the packaging on the product, the price was much higher. It turned out that people bought what was in beautiful packaging, overpaying only for its appearance. We, too, very often buy something just because we like the packaging.
Taste
We very often judge the quality of a product by its taste: if it is tasty, then everything is in order, if not, then it is not of very high quality. Indeed, taste is a very important factor, but this may not always be an indicator of quality. There are a huge number of flavors, flavor enhancers that are added to food. From them, food becomes very tasty and aromatic, which is why we like it so much. Moreover, we are so accustomed to such "bright" tastes that we no longer like natural products so much.
