If you are an inveterate sweet tooth and dream of getting rid of your "sweet addiction", there are some tips for you to help you do this.
According to the WHO, a resident of Russia eats on average about 100 g of sugar a day, while our body is able to cope with only 50 g. And scientists associate such terrible diseases as diabetes, stroke, heart attack, hypertension, colon cancer, with excess sugar in our diet. It would seem that this is why we should have abandoned buns and cakes. But not everything is so simple.
Quitting sugar can be equated with quitting smoking or drugs. Scientists all over the world have long called the painful love of sweets addiction. The point is that our brain reacts to sugar in the same way as to nicotine or drugs.
Unfortunately, if we are able to give up our addictions to alcohol and cigarettes and society understands us, then we received the first cherished sweet "dose" even before we learned to articulate the word "grandmother". Then, for many years, they cultivated addiction, buying something "for the table". So no matter how much willpower you have, it is unlikely that you will be able to abruptly give up sugar.
There are a number of tips that will help you to overcome the addiction of indulging in buns.
- Get enough sleep. The human body fights much better when rested and refreshed. Plus, when you feel overwhelmed, you are more likely to choose to treat yourself to something sweet.
- Analyze your diet. Check if you have enough protein and healthy fats in your diet. Also, eat plenty of foods that include chromium, magnesium, and zinc. These include legumes, seafood, pumpkin seeds, whole grains, lentils, apples, nuts, broccoli, eggs, soybeans, avocados, cocoa beans, leafy vegetables, and buckwheat.
- Crush meals. Try to eat small meals every 3-4 hours. This approach will help reduce your cravings for interception between meals.
- Do not keep sweets in the house. The advice is simple and logical: if you do not want to succumb to temptation, do not create a situation in which you will be tempted.
- Move more, lead an active lifestyle. Exercise raises the level of the happiness hormone in your blood, and you don't want to cheer yourself up with another chocolate bar.
- Cook at home and use spices. Cooking at home will help you avoid dessert, and spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg will reduce the urge to end your meal with something inappropriate.
