Bortsog is a Mongolian dish, which is a simple dough cut into small pieces that are fried in oil or baked in the oven. These are a kind of cookie that can taste salty or sweetish. Bortsog is served with a special Mongolian tea, suu tei tsai, and this dish is one of the most commonly consumed by the Mongols in everyday life.
It is necessary
- - flour - 250 g;
- - milk - 100 ml;
- - vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;
- - sugar - 1 tablespoon;
- - salt - 0, 3 - 1 l.;
- - soda - 0.5 tsp
Instructions
Step 1
It does not take a lot of time or complicated ingredients to prepare the dough for barzog. Just mix wheat flour with sugar, salt and soda, while taking salt in an amount determined by personal preference, depending on the desired result: cookies can turn out to be salty or sweetish in taste.
Step 2
Add vegetable oil and milk to a dry mixture consisting of flour, salt, soda and granulated sugar. Moreover, the fatter the milk, the tastier the cookies will be.
Vegetable oil can be replaced with butter, taking into account the need to pre-melt it.
Step 3
Knead a stiff dough. Time for mixing the components in the case of this particular dough is not required, you can immediately after mixing proceed to
the formation of products. To do this, roll a sausage with a diameter of 2 - 3 cm and cut it into 30 - 32 pieces.
Step 4
Place the dough pieces on a flat baking sheet and bake in the oven at 150 degrees for 30 minutes. It should be borne in mind that bortsog cookies significantly increase in size during baking, therefore, when spreading the dough on a baking sheet, leave a sufficiently large distance between the pieces.
Cool the finished Mongolian bortsog cookies before serving.
