Many people know about the benefits of vegetables. But few of us will name broccoli, spinach or zucchini as our favorite foods. Are there ways to fall in love with what many contemptuously call "silage"?
Many people do not eat vegetables, because they do not think that they can be used to cook anything tasty. Many are due to diseases and individual response of the body. For most, the list of vegetables is limited to only 5-6 items, and the list of dishes from them is even three: borscht, stewed cabbage and mashed potatoes. How do you introduce such an unloved food category into your diet?
1. New week - new product! Ask the vendors in the market what you can make with celery, loba, fennel. Look for unusual recipes with fresh vegetables. Take a chance and get asparagus from the supermarket. There is one trick: try new vegetables when you are hungry. You will surely find something to suit your taste!
2. Looking for new ways to cook vegetables that better preserve their flavor and texture! For example, cook them on a wire rack, but don't use too much oil or keep them on fire for too long, so they retain their unique flavor and texture. Any vegetables are suitable for baking! Try baking them on skewers and serving them with a green sauce based on natural yogurt or pesto, you will surely love it!
3. Add vegetables to your usual dishes! A few broccoli inflorescences, zucchini slices, leafy spinach and other greens will not worsen, but, on the contrary, will enrich the taste of a familiar dish! In addition, they will reduce its calorie content. A good idea: replace some of the minced meat for cutlets with grated zucchini - the cutlets will turn out to be tasty, juicy, and dietary.
4. Making vegetable snacks! Very tasty and healthy: crispy sticks of carrots (or baby carrots), cucumber, radish, celery with a dip of pasty cottage cheese and garlic.
5. Making vegetable dressings! The simplest and most common, of course, tomato: just peel the tomatoes and send them to the blender along with a spoonful of soy sauce and wasabi to taste, an amazing spaghetti sauce with oriental notes in taste is ready!
6. Cooking pates from baked vegetables. And it's not just about squash and eggplant caviar. Roast peppers and tomatoes, pumpkin and onions, sweet potatoes and use as an addition to your morning sandwich!
7. We drink vegetables! In the heat, a cocktail of cucumber, herbs and kefir will perfectly refresh.
8. Let's call cheese to helpers! If you can't eat vegetables just like that, bake them under the cheese. But try to use non-greasy types and not pour in too much.
9. We bake vegetable tarts! Add low-fat cottage cheese and an egg to the filling to the vegetables, and make the dough with whole grain flour (or 50/50) is a great option for lunch on the go!
