Jellied meat is a primordially Russian product. No festive table is complete without this traditional dish. But, often, not all dishes from our table are eaten instantly. And then the question arises of storing jellied meat. How to make it stay fresh longer and what conditions should be observed for its storage?

Step 1

First of all, decide on the composition of the jellied meat. The ingredients added to a dish affect its shelf life. Jellied meat prepared according to the traditional recipe - on beef and pork bones, with the addition of pepper and salt, can stand in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. At the same time, observe the temperature regime from 0 to 6 degrees Celsius.

If during cooking you use garlic, fresh herbs, carrots, then the shelf life of jellied meat is reduced. It will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 36 hours. The temperature regime is the same.

Step 3

This product can stay in the freezer for up to 2 months and at the same time remain tasty and safe for consumption.

Remember to practice good hygiene while preparing your food. Wash your hands thoroughly. Use only fresh meat, without signs of spoilage and unpleasant odors. Rinse the vegetables thoroughly and pat dry with a towel. Sort out the seasonings. Use different boards for butchering meat and cutting vegetables. Make sure the dishes are clean.

Step 5

Do not store prepared ingredients, put them immediately in a common saucepan and cook according to the recipe. After pouring it into a container, do not keep the jelly in the air for a long time. As soon as it has cooled down, immediately put it in the refrigerator or put it in a cool place appropriate to the temperature regime.

If you notice that you do not have time to consume jellied meat before the appointed time, boil it over and cool it again. But this method can be used no more than once!

Step 7

Store jellied meat in a neutral container, preferably made of glass or ceramic. An enamel container with a tight-fitting lid will also work. Never keep jellied meat together with other dishes - this will negatively affect its shelf life.
