For me, herring caviar comes from childhood. This dish was always prepared by my mother for a holiday. The caviar is very original and tasty. The dish is perfect as a snack. And you can make very original sandwiches with herring caviar. Pets will be delighted. Here's a simple recipe.

It is necessary

  • - sunflower oil - 100 ml;
  • - water - 100 ml;
  • - semolina - 100 g;
  • - tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • - onions - 2-3 medium-sized heads;
  • - herring - 3-4 pcs. medium in size.

Instructions

Step 1

Combine oil and water in a saucepan, put on fire and bring to a boil. Pour semolina into the boiling liquid, stirring constantly, in small portions so that there are no lumps. Cook after boiling for 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from heat and cool.

Step 2

The most time consuming stage is fish preparation. Clean herring from skin and free from bones. Pass the herring fillet twice through a meat grinder, you can through the pate lattice.

Step 3

Separately mince the onion. Pour some sunflower oil into the pan. Add tomato paste to the heated oil. Saute the chopped onion for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, avoiding browning.

Step 4

Mix all ingredients and mix well. Cool caviar in the refrigerator.
