Cabbage rolls are one of the favorite and most popular dishes in Russian families. But it takes a lot of time to prepare it, so we will describe the preparation of lazy cabbage rolls. This recipe is much easier to prepare than the original, and in terms of taste, it is in no way inferior to it.
Ingredients:
- Minced meat - 0.5 kg;
- Onions - 2 pcs;
- White cabbage - ½ kg;
- Medium carrots - 1 pc;
- Garlic - 4 cloves;
- Round rice - 1/3 cup;
- Mayonnaise (can be replaced with sour cream) - 150 g;
- Sunflower oil;
- Salt;
- Ground black pepper - to taste;
Preparation:
- The first step is to peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. Wash carrots from dirt and grate on a coarse grater. Chop the peeled garlic with a knife or through a press. Wash the cabbage and chop as small as possible.
- Add the garlic chopped through a press, half of the chopped onion and chopped cabbage to the minced meat. Then season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir the mixture well.
- Cool the round rice, washed in advance and boiled until half cooked, and add to the minced meat. Fry the other half of the chopped onion and grated carrots in a heavy-bottomed saucepan or cast-iron roasting pan. You can add other vegetables such as tomato or bell pepper. Form medium-sized balls of minced meat and fry in a pan until light golden brown.
- Put the fried meat cutlets on top of the vegetables, then add a little broth or just boiled water. Bring to a boil, then switch to low heat. 7-10 minutes before the end of stewing, pour the cabbage rolls on top with mayonnaise, add any spices to taste and let it simmer.
Serve lazy cabbage rolls with mashed potatoes or round boiled potatoes, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs on top.
