Onion chips are now available in any store in the snack section. But you can make them yourself at home, and then treat your friends to a fresh and tasty snack. Onion chips are great as a standalone dish and as an addition to beer and other fermented beverages.

It is necessary

  • • Ground crackers - 70 g.
  • • Hot red pepper (cayenne or chili) - a pinch.
  • • Oregano seasoning - 1 tsp.
  • • Large onion - 2 pcs.
  • • Milk - 2 tbsp. l.
  • • Egg - 1 pc.
  • • Black pepper, salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Mix together ground crackers, pepper (red) and oregano so that they make a separate mixture (breading). We peel the onion, cut it into approximately equal thin slices and, if possible without damaging it, carefully disassemble it into separate rings.

Step 2

Beat the egg and milk in a deep plate (until smooth). In the resulting mixture, dip all the chopped onions and roll them well on all sides in the breading we made earlier.

Tip: If you want, you can completely skip spices by making onion chips. It will then be enough to restrict ourselves to salt with a small amount of black ground pepper - I personally did this for the first time, since I prepared them for children. It was delicious anyway.

Step 3

Spread the seasoned onion rings on a pre-greased baking sheet in overlapping rows (according to the tile principle) - this arrangement will allow them to bake evenly. We send the baking sheet with onions to an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 15 minutes. Then we turn the rings over to the other side and leave to bake for another 15 minutes.

Ready indicator: The breading should be lightly browned and golden brown.

Step 4

Put the finished onion rings on a dish covered with a napkin. Then add a little salt, add pepper and serve.
