In many houses, among kitchen electrical appliances, you can find a waffle iron, but not every housewife knows how to prepare the right dough for real waffles, so the units are gathering dust without any sense. Meanwhile, thick waffles have become a real national delicacy in Belgium. And they are baked from butter yeast dough.

It is necessary

    • 500 g flour
    • 100 g sugar
    • 1 bag of vanillin
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 40 g yeast
    • 600 ml milk
    • 80 g butter
    • 4 eggs

Instructions

Step 1

Sift flour through a sieve into a wide bowl, add sugar, vanillin and one pinch of salt to it. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Step 2

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, pour the resulting mixture into a bowl of flour, stir the liquid a couple of times with a spoon to only slightly mix part of the flour with the milk. Let the dough stand for 15-20 minutes, then knead all the ingredients into a smooth, homogeneous dough. This test should also be allowed to pass. It will take about half an hour.

In the meantime, melt the butter in a skillet or saucepan over low heat, turn off the heat and let cool until warm.

Step 4

Take two cups and eggs. Separate the whites from the yolks. Pour the cooled oil into a cup with yolks, mix thoroughly and pour the resulting emulsion into the matched dough, which after that will need to be mixed well again and left for the next half hour to rise.

Step 5

Beat the whites until they become firm foam and, with gentle movements from top to bottom, insert them into the dough that has come up, being careful not to destroy its structure.

Step 6

The dough for baking waffles is ready, all that remains is not to spoil it during the baking process. Heat the waffle iron well, grease both halves thoroughly with vegetable or ghee.

Step 7

One serving of waffles usually requires one medium-sized ladle of dough. After pouring the dough, immediately close the waffle iron and turn it on to the maximum heat. As soon as the waffles are golden brown and golden brown, they are ready.
