Instructions

Step 1

To make a hot smoked cod salad, prepare the vegetables and herbs first. Take a sharp knife and cut off the rhizome from each stem of the green onion. Next, rinse the onions under cold running water, shake off excess water from it, and then finely chop the green onions on a cutting board and transfer to a deep bowl.

Step 2

Wash the potatoes and carrots, transfer them to a medium-sized saucepan and fill with water so that it covers four centimeters. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cover with a lid. Cook vegetables for 25 minutes. Check the readiness of the vegetables with a fork. Let the boiled vegetables cool completely to room temperature.

While the carrots and potatoes are cooling, take the hot smoked cod, put it on a cutting board, then cut off the head and tail of the fish, remove all the insides. Then make a longitudinal incision along the spine of the cod, remove the fish fillets from the rib bones while removing the spine. Take a good look at the fish fillet so that no bones are left in it.

Place two halves of cod on a cutting board and peel off the thickened side one at a time. Then you can cut the fish fillets into small cubes or chop them into small pieces with your hands. Place the chopped cod in a bowl with the green onions.
