Pie with poppy seeds, prepared according to grandmother's recipes, turns out to be very tasty and aromatic. In addition, poppy itself is very useful and nutritious, the fiber it contains, as well as a large amount of easily digestible calcium make it very useful in the diet of every person.

- For the test:
- flour - 800 grams;
- sugar - 100 grams;
- butter - 50 grams;
- milk - 200 ml;
- eggs - 3 pcs.;
- dry yeast - 1 tablespoon (no top) or 1 sachet (11 g per sachet);
- salt - 0.5 teaspoon;
- vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons.
- For filling:
- poppy - 120 g;
- milk - 200ml;
- sugar - 2 tablespoons.
Instructions
Step 1
Start by making the filling. To do this, take a glass of milk, pour it into a small saucepan (ladle or enamel mug) and bring to a boil, remembering to stir regularly. Pour the poppy seeds into a deep bowl and cover with boiled milk. Set aside the mixture for about an hour to steam the poppy
Step 2
While the ingredients for the filling are being prepared, do the dough. Sift all the flour through a sieve. Measure 1, 5 cups from it and sift again, but already in a specially prepared 2-3 liter saucepan. Add yeast to the flour, stir thoroughly and pour the resulting mixture with a glass of warm milk. Mix everything well until a homogeneous mass is formed. Cover the pan with the prepared dough with a towel or cling film and put in a warm place for half an hour
Step 3
While the dough is suitable, prepare the products for the dough: two eggs, salt, half a glass of sugar, butter and two glasses of flour. Heat the oil slightly and soften, sift the flour a second time. After half an hour, take a saucepan with the dough that has come by that time and add the above eggs, salt, sugar, butter and flour to it. Mix thoroughly
Step 4
Sift the remaining flour on the table, put the dough on it and continue kneading it with your hands until it stops sticking
Step 5
Take a saucepan from under the dough, wash and wipe dry, brush with vegetable oil and dip the finished dough into it. Cover with a towel or cling film and put back in a warm place for 40 minutes
Step 6
While the dough is coming up, finish preparing the filling. Stir the poppy seeds previously drenched in milk. If the poppy has not absorbed all the milk, then it is advisable to drain the excess
Step 7
Add 2 rounded tablespoons of sugar to the poppy seeds and rub the mixture with a pestle until smooth. The filling is ready
Step 8
Check the dough. As soon as it rises, grease your hands with sunflower oil and do a workout. Then again put it in a warm place for another 30 minutes. In half an hour it will rise a second time
Step 9
Sprinkle flour on the table, grease your hands with butter and lay the dough on the table. Mash it a little and roll it into a layer half a centimeter thick and 10-12 centimeters wide. Spread the filling evenly over the top

Roll the resulting structure into a roll and place on a ring-shaped baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. Cut two pieces from the resulting roll and set aside. Take large scissors, roll it well in flour and cut the roll into equal slices: cuts should be made from the outside of the ring to the inside, without literally cutting a little
Step 11
Shape the cake according to the principle: unfold one piece and put it inside, the other in the same way, but outside. And so in turn. After that, in the middle of the pie, beautifully lay out the previously cut two pieces of the roll. The cake is ready. It remains to bake it correctly
Step 12
Leave the cake warm for about 20 minutes so that the dough comes up a little. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the pie in the oven for 20 minutes. Beat the egg and after 20 minutes grease your pie liberally, sprinkle with the remaining poppy seeds on top. Return it to the oven and bake until tender (5-7 minutes). Allow the pie to cool before placing it on the platter.
