Dumplings are a wonderful dish of Slavic cuisine that will help diversify the table. These balls can be used as a side dish, as a stand-alone dish, or as an addition to soups.

- Potato dumplings:
- 10-12 pcs. potatoes;
- 4-5 tablespoons of flour;
- 2 onions;
- salt.
- Potato dumplings with meat:
- 7-8 pcs. potatoes;
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1-2 eggs;
- 300 g of beef;
- onions - to taste;
- salt;
- pepper.
- Finnish dumplings:
- 4 things. potatoes;
- 1/3 cup cream
- 4 tablespoons flour;
- 3 eggs;
- 2 tablespoons of raisins;
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon of chopped greens;
- 1 liter of water or broth;
- salt to taste.
- Potato dumplings with feta cheese:
- 800 g potatoes;
- 10 g flour;
- 1 egg;
- 1 onion;
- 100 g bacon;
- 100 g feta cheese;
- salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Potato dumplings. Rinse and peel potatoes, remove eyes. Grind with a food processor or finely grate. Fold the resulting puree onto a thick cloth or cheesecloth to drain the juice, and squeeze with your hands. Wait for the starch to settle in the juice to add it to the puree.
Step 2
Add flour, salt and starch to the potatoes. Knead everything thoroughly. Put a pot of water on fire and lightly salt. Pour in enough liquid to keep the dumplings from sticking together. While the water is boiling, form small balls of equal size.
Step 3
Dip the balls in boiling water one by one and stir constantly to avoid sticking. Make sure the water is constantly boiling. Cook the dumplings until tender, about 25-30 minutes. While the dish is cooking, peel and cut the onion into half rings. Put the onion and ready-made dumplings in a frying pan and fry until golden brown.
Step 4
Potato dumplings with meat. Grate peeled and drained raw potatoes. Place the mixture in a sieve and let the liquid drain. Add eggs, flour, salt and mix thoroughly. Form balls from the finished mass.
Step 5
Press the minced meat mixed with onions into each ball. Cook the dumplings in salted water until tender. Serve with sour cream.
Step 6
Finnish dumplings. Boil potatoes, add eggs, raisins, cream and ginger to it and knead the dough. Form the dumplings and cook in water or broth for 15-20 minutes. Serve with finely chopped herbs.
Step 7
Potato dumplings with feta cheese. Make a dough using boiled potatoes, eggs, and flour. Cut into diamonds about 1 cm thick and boil in salted water until tender.
Step 8
Fry the pork fat in a skillet. When a sufficient amount of fat is released from it, put the chopped onions in the pan and fry. Serving the dumplings to the table, put the fried onion and bacon on a dish and sprinkle with grated feta cheese.
