Ingredients for the dough:

  • Potatoes - 300-400 g;
  • Minced meat - 200 g;
  • Egg - 2 pcs;
  • Green onions - ½ bunch;
  • Salt pepper;
  • Flour - 2 tablespoons;
  • Oil - 1/3 cup;
  • Soda is on the tip of a knife.

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • Fresh tomato - 1 pc;
  • Garlic - 2-3 cloves;
  • Mayonnaise or sour cream - 2 tablespoons

Preparation:

  1. Rinse the potatoes from dirt and peel them. Grate the prepared potatoes on the finest grater. Drain the liquid from the grated potatoes. Then add the defrosted minced meat to the potatoes and mix until the minced meat is evenly distributed with the potatoes.
  2. Finely chop the green onion and add to the mixture as well. If you want something spicy, you can add a few chopped cloves of garlic to the minced meat. Break the eggs into the mixture, add salt, pepper and baking soda. After mixing the dough, add a little flour and mix until the lumps disappear.
  3. When the mixture is mixed, add the vegetable oil and mix again.
  4. Put the pan on the fire and heat it up. When frying the first batch of potato pancakes, you can add a little oil to the pan. Then you don't need to add oil, as there is oil in the dough.
  5. Spread the pancakes in a frying pan with a tablespoon and bake over medium heat until browned on each side.
  6. Prepare sauce for potato pancakes. Cut the tomato in half and finely grate in mashed potatoes. Chop the garlic on a fine grater and add to the tomato puree. Add a little salt and a pinch of sugar, put in mayonnaise or sour cream, whichever is more to your taste, and stir until smooth.

Serve potato pancakes hot with tomato sauce or the old-fashioned way with sour cream.
