It is necessary

    • 4 apples;
    • 1-2 tbsp walnuts;
    • 20-50 g cranberries;
    • 1 orange;
    • 1/2 glass of water
    • 1/2 cup sugar (preferably brown)
    • 30 g butter;
    • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon;
    • 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg;
    • ice cream or whipped cream.

Instructions

Step 1

Take medium sized apples. Wash and wipe dry. Remove the core and seeds carefully. Only peel off the top quarter of the apples.

Step 2

To prevent the apples from darkening while the filling is cooking, pour lemon juice on the peeled surface.

Step 3

Wash the orange, peel, grate the zest and squeeze the juice. Combine orange zest, cranberries, and crushed nuts together. Stuff the apples with the resulting mass.

Step 4

To make the sauce, combine water, sugar, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan. If desired, you can add 1 tbsp. a spoonful of liquor or brandy. Bring the mixture to a boil. Simmer the sauce until the sugar dissolves.

Step 5

Place the apples on a baking sheet or in a refractory rimmed dish. Pour the prepared sauce over the apples.

Step 6

It is necessary to bake apples stuffed with cranberries for about 50-70 minutes at a temperature of 180-190 C. Pour the sauce over the apples from time to time.

Step 7

When the fruit is soft, the dessert is ready.

Step 8

Serve baked apples with cranberries hot. Garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and a sprig of mint.
