Biscotti is a traditional Italian crispy cookie with lots of almonds, served with coffee and even sweet wine. You can also add a variety of goodies to the cookie dough, such as chunks of chocolate, other nuts, spices, dried fruits, and even vegetables.
It is necessary
- - 3 1/4 cups flour
- - 1 tablespoon baking powder
- - 1/3 teaspoon salt
- - 1 1/2 cups sugar
- - 10 tablespoons of melted butter
- - 3 large eggs
- - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- - 1 tablespoon orange liqueur
- - 1 tablespoon orange peel
- - 1 cup toasted chopped almonds
- - 1 egg white

Step 1
To make the dough, take a large bowl and sift the flour in it, add baking powder and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar, melted butter, 3 eggs, vanilla extract, orange liqueur, and orange zest. Then add the flour mixture and stir well with a wooden spoon. Then add the almonds.

Divide the resulting dough in half. Dust your hands with flour and form each half of the dough into a slab 35 cm long and 6 cm wide. Transfer them to a prepared baking dish covered with parchment paper.

Then beat the egg white in a small bowl until fluffy and brush gently over the top and sides of each layer with a brush.

Bake in the oven at 170 degrees until golden brown for 30 minutes. Let cool after baking.

Then, using a serrated knife, cut them diagonally into slices about 1.2 cm wide. Place them on a baking dish. Bake again for 12 minutes. Turn over and bake for another 8 minutes.
