It is necessary

  • - wheat flour - 0.7 kg;
  • - fresh yeast - 15 g;
  • - butter - 50 g;
  • - milk - 0.2 l;
  • - water - 0.25 l;
  • - milk for coating - 3 tablespoons;
  • - salt - 2 tsp

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the necessary items for baking Scottish buns. Put sifted wheat flour into a bowl. Mix it with salt and finely chopped butter. Rub the flour and butter with your hands. Collect the flour and butter mixture with a slide, and make a depression in the center.

Step 2

Dissolve the yeast with warm milk, then pour into flour. Heat water until warm, also mix with flour. Substitute the dough, add flour or water as needed in the process. The finished dough should be soft. Knead the dough for 10-12 minutes. Prepare an elastic semi-finished product. Place the batch in a bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap. Leave the dough in a warm place, let it double in volume.

Step 3

As soon as the dough rises, pour a little flour on the workplace, lay out the kneading, knead it, let the air bubbles be removed. Divide the whole piece into 12 pieces. To do this, roll out the sausage, cut equal shares with a knife. Roll each piece into an ellipse, its thickness should not exceed one centimeter.

Step 4

Prepare a baking sheet, line it with baking paper. Spread out the buns, leaving a distance between them. Brush each piece with milk. Then you need to sprinkle with flour. It is better to use a strainer for this. Try to select a plastic bag large enough to fit the baking sheet. After placing the buns on a sheet in a bag, let them sit for 30 minutes. During this time, the products will rise twice.

Step 5

Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Remove the bag from the buns, sprinkle with flour again. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. The buns should be golden brown.

Step 6

After taking out the hot baps, cover them with a towel for a while.
