How to make homemade marmalade

The base of the marmalade is gelatin (or agar-agar) and juice. But do not dwell on these ingredients, you can improvise to your liking, for example, use hibiscus tea or a decoction of berries.

Basic recipe for homemade marmalade:

  • 300 ml of juice (freshly squeezed);
  • 4 tablespoons of gelatin;
  • honey or sweetener to taste;
  • spices (cinnamon, vanilla, ginger and others - to taste).

Mix the juice with honey, add gelatin and let it swell. Then heat the mixture over low heat with constant stirring and add the spices. Do not bring to a boil. When the gelatin is completely dissolved, cool slightly and pour into prepared forms. Leave the prepared marmalade to freeze overnight in the refrigerator. Remove from molds, roll in sugar, powdered sugar or coconut, and cut into smaller pieces if necessary.
