Pancakes are usually prepared with milk or kefir. However, if you abandon dairy products in favor of water, the dish will turn out to be lighter and more dietary. In addition, these pancakes go well with various fillings due to their slightly bland taste.
It is necessary
- - 1 glass of flour;
- - 200 ml of water;
- - 1 tablespoon of refined vegetable oil;
- - 1 chicken egg;
- - 1 bag of baking powder or baking soda on the tip of a knife;
- - a pinch of salt;
- - 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a deep container. Mix an egg with water, sugar and salt in it. Beat the resulting mixture with a mixer or whisk. While continuing to stir, gradually add flour and baking powder. Beat the resulting mass until all the lumps are completely dissolved. At the end, pour in the vegetable oil and mix thoroughly again.
Step 2
The consistency of the dough should resemble very thin sour cream. If it turns out to be too liquid, add a little flour, and if it is too thick, pour a couple of tablespoons of water into it.
Step 3
A thick-bottomed pan, such as a cast iron pan, is best for making pancakes, as it heats evenly and keeps the heat well. It's good if it also comes with a non-stick coating.
Step 4
Before you start frying, grease the pan with vegetable oil. To prevent the first pancake from turning out lumpy, take just a couple of drops or use a spray bottle. You do not need to do this in the future, since the oil is already contained in the dough.
Step 5
Pour a portion of the dough into a hot frying pan and, tilting it in different directions, distribute the mass evenly over the entire surface. When the top of the pancake "grabs", gently turn it over with a spatula and fry for about half a minute.
Step 6
If you like well-toasted, ruddy pancakes, grill them over medium to high heat. Remember that the weaker the fire, the lighter they will be.
Step 7
Pancakes are best served hot. They go well with red caviar, sour cream, honey or jam. You can also wrap cheese, cottage cheese, vegetable, fish or meat filling in them.
